Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-11-21T18:12Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
Activity ID: 2024-11-21T18:12:00-CME-001 (version 3)
Note Keyword:
3P: 3-part structure CME
FOV: Front Bright front; may be evidence of pileup
GAP: Data gap
HAL: Halo CME
SEP: Solar Energetic Particle event
Source Signature Keyword:
FIL: Filament eruption
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
EUVW: EUV Wave
Morphology Keyword:
FS: Flux Rope and Shock Candidate
Note: Bright and fast partial halo to the northwest, with bulk and (fainter) shock fronts, associated with the fast backsided eruption marked by an EUV wave and fast opening of field lines behind the NW limb seen around 2024-11-21T18Z. The source is backsided, based on the coronal signatures and might be Active Region 3889 which would be at the longitude 115 to 120 degrees at the moment.

The List of CME Analysis already entered:
Event Type Catalog
Measurement TypeCME measurement type: Leading Edge (LE), Shock Front (SH), Right Hand Boundary (RHB), Left Hand Boundary (LHB), Black/White Boundary (BW), Prominence Core (COR), Disconnection Front (DIS), Trailing Edge (TE).
Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type

CME Analysis M2M_CATALOG LE true SWPC_CAT 120.0 11.0 1560.0 O 49.0 2024-11-21T20:23Z Very uncertain analysis based on the fit with ONE coronagraph only (SOHO) since there is no imagery from STEREO A COR2 because of an extensive data gap and the source is backsided, based on the coronal signatures. The range of possible longitudes that produce a decent fit in SOHO is from 115 to 140 degrees. 1: Result 1 (2.0 AU)
2: Result 2 (5.5 AU)
